Your right to know

According to the National Credit Act, South Africans are entitled to one free credit report every year. You can obtain this annual free credit report from any one of the following credit bureaus: TransUnion, Compuscan and Experian. If you would like a second credit report, you can get one for a minimal fee from any of the previously mentioned credit bureaus. You can even sign up for a service which sends you a monthly sms with your summarised credit report details.
It is your right to access this information, and after you’ve viewed your credit report, you will be able to ensure all the information is correct and challenge discrepancies. You are also able to use this information to improve your credit score, which in turn has a positive effect on your financial situation.
